Night for All Souls at Mountain View Cemetery

Night for All Souls are events and workshops to commemorate the dead through ceremony and celebration. Mountain View Cemetery (in East Vancouver)  invites the public to commemorate their dead at the 7th annual Night for All Souls, a family-oriented community art event on:

Saturday, October 29 from 6 to 10 pm
Mountain View Cemetery, Celebration Hall
5445 Fraser Street (at 39th Avenue)

The Night for All Souls will provide an atmosphere of quiet contemplation with music, warming fires, tea and public shrines to remember the dead. Candles, flowers and other materials will be available for the creation of personal memorials. The cemetery registry will be open for locating specific graves.

Mountain View will also host a series of workshops and events on making memorial pieces and learning more about remembrance traditions:

October 20-23 – Workshops for creating memorials or shrines.

Screening: Forever (a film about Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris)

November 2 at 6 pm
Quiet Night: Last night for personal memorials.
