Nicole Bridger brought a fresh perspective to her collection for Spring/Summer 2014. Filled with bright colours and modern abstract prints, ‘Ready for Love’ was filled with fuchsia pinks, electric blues, and vibrant chartreuse tones. “I called this collection ‘Ready For Love’ because I want to encourage people to share love in abundance,” says Nicole Bridger. This inspiration is reflected in the collection by way of a vibrant and strong palette. In this exciting collection, Bridger collaborated with abstract artist, Zoe Pawlak, and manipulated Pawlak’s paintings into unique patterns for the new clothing designs. Two paintings were repurposed on the 55 piece collection; a repeating landscape sectional, and a nude drawing that was used throughout the collection as a repetitive print. The first iteration was also the most vibrant and arguably eye-catching in the room; from there, Bridger and Pawlak developed monochromatic iterations on ethically sourced silks, linens, and jersey materials that grounded the more vibrant pieces in the collection.
We visited their launch party, where we were able to learn about Bridger and Pawlak’s collaborative efforts and see the collection in action as the models showcased each look throughout the evening. The new collection is now available at Bridger’s flagship store, online, and in select boutiques across Canada and the US.
