Nickelback has been forced to cancel the remainder of his “No Fixed Address” tour due to a medical emergency.

Lead vocalist Chad Kroeger will be undergoing surgery after being diagnosed with an operable cyst in his voice box. Kroeger has been told to rest his vocal chords ahead of the surgery in three weeks.

Nickelback already performed in Vancouver on March 15. The band was set to perform a show tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Wheatland, California.

“We completely understand people will be upset about this but unfortunately I don’t know what you do in these situation,”said band member Ryan Peake in a video statement. “Sometimes these things happen and we need to properly take care of his voice.”

Kroegre’s medical team expects a healthy, full recovery, and Nickelback will resume its tour on September 30 in Europe.
