25 photos and videos of the first annual New Year's Eve Vancouver Celebration
Even with the cold weather, tens of thousands attended last night’s New Year’s Eve festival on the downtown Vancouver waterfront. Revellers packed themselves in the area around Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre from 6 p.m. to just after midnight.
There was a free concert and two fireworks displays – a three-minute-long display at 9 p.m. and an 11-minute-long finale at the stroke of midnight.
Revellers were well-behaved, with Vancouver Police reporting high spirits and few incidents – mainly a handful of liquor pour outs.
The official attendance number has not been released.
