To build up anticipation as 2016 approaches, New Year’s Eve Vancouver will be hosting a free concert as part of its festivities along Canada Place Way at the downtown Vancouver waterfront.
Five local bands that have participated in The PEAK Performance Project will take to the 102.7 The PEAK Stage as part of the six-hour-long festival that begins at 6 p.m. and ends just after midnight.
Over the last seven years, The PEAK Performance Project has educated, promoted, developed and launched the careers of some of British Columbia’s up and coming artists. The artist lineup for the night includes 2015 winner Bed of Stars, as well as headliner Current Swell, Dear Rouge, We Are The City, and The Matinee.

In addition to the bands, the festival will also include DJs, multicultural performances, food trucks, sponsor activities, and live broadcasts by both 102.7 The PEAK and Global B.C.
There will be two fireworks displays launched from a barge in Coal Harbour: a three-minute Early Eve Countdown Fireworks display at 9 p.m. and an 11-minute Midnight Countdown Fireworks show. Fireworks for the midnight display will be synchronized to music, which will be played on 102.7 The PEAK.
