The Independent Investigations Office has confirmed they are now investigating  a “critical incident of an officer involved shooting.”

We now know that New West police were responding to a call about a man causing a disturbance when the shooting happened near the 800 block of Boyd Street

BC Ambulance says one person has been transported to hospital in critical condition .

Multiple callers to our traffic station AM730 earlier reported it was a shooting at the Wal-Mart in Queensborough landing around noon.

“Just letting you know over in Queensborough, at the Walmart area, there has been a shooting. Yeah, there is all kinds of police cars, fire, ambulance, they have it roped off.”

Wal-Mart says they’re still open.
