New Rules for Vancouver Food Trucks

Dec 19 2017, 5:42 pm

The expansion of Vancouver’s food truck industry has been immense. However, permit holders will no longer be able to resell their permits as some permits were being sold for $10,000 a year – 10 times their original price.

Vancouver City Council is set to vote on a bylaw next week that will prohibit permit holders from reselling permits.

The new by-law will also limit the number of permits one company can hold to four.

Local restaurants will also be happy to know that a food truck will not be allowed to set up within a 100 metres of a restaurant that sells food of a similar nature.
