Last night I was blessed with the opportunity to attend the VIP launch event of TASTE, a brand new resto-lounge on Seymour that is connected to the FIVESIXTY night club. This establishment provides a cozy and relaxing place for guests to socialize while indulging in decadent shared plates and irresistible drinks. An evening at TASTE can easily be followed by clubbing that’s just next door, or vice versa.
The inside of TASTE is a very captivating sight. This lounge has a rather narrow floor plan, but is still relatively spacious since it extends fairly deep. The entire restaurant is decorated by vintage walls, local artwork, and red chandeliers that together add a lot of character to the space. The long marble bar table that runs down the middle of the restaurant makes it easy for even for large groups to socialize and share plates.
The Sunken Bar in TASTE is perhaps its greatest highlight. The ceiling-high wine display that can be found here is luxury at its best.
TASTE serves most standard drinks as well as a few specialities of its own. It’s particularly considerate how the menu suggests eats that particularly work well with each individual drink.
An open kitchen is found at the end of this lounge, allowing guests to get a glimpse of how their food is made. At the Launch event, we were served with a preview of TASTE’s menu, which comprised of an assortment of their most proud plates.
The cold cuts platter was definitely the star of the night. The meats were all top-quality and fresh, and the Italian-imported cheeses were nothing less than amazing.

Whether you’re getting of a tough day at work or grabbing some bites before going clubbing, TASTE will provide you with the memorable experience that you deserve. I am a huge fan of this eclectic lounge, and I am happy with what it adds to the Vancouver night life scene. After all, a city can never have enough of these late night spots.
