B.C. château featured in new Netflix reality show 'Million Dollar Secret'

If you’re a lover of reality TV, you may have recently tuned in to Million Dollar Secret on Netflix, and it turns out, there’s a major B.C. connection to the hit show.
The series focuses on 12 strangers, one of whom is secretly awarded a $1-million prize.
The other contestants must work together to determine which of their fellow housemates has the prize, the secret millionaire, also participating to hide that they possess the money.
The show is similar to other reality competitions, such as The Traitors and The Mole, where one or more players have a secret identity that they must keep hidden from their fellow competitors.
Of course, a show involving lying, deceit, mystery, and money wouldn’t be entertaining without a picturesque setting, and while Million Dollar Secret may appear to take place at a luxurious villa in southern Italy, it was filmed at the Château Okanagan in Kelowna.

Netflix notes that the residence is also known as “The Stag.”
“The private chateau sits on 44 beautifully kept acres in Kelowna, Canada,” added the streaming giant’s companion site, Tudum, in a recent online post.

Château Okanagan
According to Château Okanagan’s website, the gated property sits on the shores of Okanagan Lake and is described as “one of the most luxurious estates in Western Canada.”

The estate features eight guest rooms that can accommodate up to 16 guests, and boasts lavish amenities such as a 12-seat theatre, ballroom, fitness room, a loft library, a nearly one-kilometre shoreline that includes five pebble beaches, a lakeside vineyard, a European-style spa, and two infinity-edge pools.

If you want to treat yourself to a stay at the château, it is possible.
The estate is currently offering a minimum three-night stay package, but it’ll cost you a pretty penny. Pricing starts at $13,200 per night, so it might be best to stick to watching Million Dollar Secret and imagining that you’re there instead.
