Pascal Siakam will play in his first-ever NBA All-Star Game, as the Toronto Raptors forward was one of 10 players voted into the game today as starters.

Here’s the moment he found out:

The 25-year-old is a deserving selection, as he has taken over as the Raptors’ best player. Siakam is averaging 23.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game this season — all career highs.

The Cameroon native finished third in voting among Eastern Conference frontcourt players with a weighted score of 2.75.

Siakam is the seventh player in franchise history to earn an All-Star selection, joining Chris Bosh (5 times), Vince Carter (5), Kyle Lowry (4), DeMar DeRozan (4), Antonio Davis (1), and Kawhi Leonard (1).

Siakam will be joined by Eastern Conference starters Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Kemba Walker (Boston Celtics), and Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks).

Western Conference starters include former Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard, along with LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers), Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), and James Harden (Houston Rockets).

Siakam and Young were the only first-time All-Stars named as starters, while LeBron was named to his 16th All-Star Game — the third-most in NBA history. The record for most All-Star selections is held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who was named 19 times, while Kobe Bryant was picked on 18 occasions.

The Chicago Bulls are hosting the 2020 NBA All-Star Game, which will take place February 16 at the United Center. Fans account for 50% of the vote to determine the 10 starters (three frontcourt players and two guards per Conference), with players (25%) and media (25%) accounting for the other half.

While All-Stars were split evenly between Eastern and Western Conferences, teams will be picked by All-Star captains James and Antetokounmpo. The NBA All-Star Draft Show will be televised Thursday, February 6 at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT.

The remaining All-Stars will be announced at a later date, with Raptors guards Kyle Lowry (who finished fifth in voting among Eastern Conference guards) and Fred VanVleet candidates to make it as reserves.
