Historically bad home record be damned, the vibes are rising at Rogers Arena.
For the first time this season, the Vancouver Canucks won two contests in a three-game stretch at home.
Yes, the bar is low. But don’t let that kill the dressing room vibes.
Adam Foote has alluded to the dressing room being in a better place. And last week, Brock Boeser talked about how fun it was to celebrate a win with the younger guys.
“Everyone was super excited, and we had a fun win song,” he said. “Everyone was having fun.”
But what was the win song?
“I don’t even know what it’s called,” he said. “It’s a Euro song. You’re going to have to ask a Euro guy.”
Well, with another win just days after the victory over Nashville, the Canucks were cranking the same tune following their win over the defending Stanley Cup champions.
But Elias Pettersson still had no idea what the song was, or who picked it.
“I don’t know what language it is…I don’t even know what they say in the song, but it’s a good song,” he said.
Even Boeser was still in the dark about it.
“I still don’t know what it’s called,” Boeser said. “It’s just European…so beats me.”
Thankfully, the mystery has been solved.
#Canucks have an Oktoberfest win song

The new victory song is “Mama Laudaaa,” a German dance song released in 2018 by German DJs Almklausi and Specktakel.
Although the song has been revealed, more questions remain.
Kevin Lankinen was asked about the song, and his response created more questions.
“I guess that’s just an inside joke,” he said. “I don’t know much about that, but it’s funny.”
In fairness, the Canucks locker room looks like it could use more fun.
“Mama Laudaaa” references the mother of famous Austrian race car driver, Niki Lauda, with the first translated line being, “What is the name of Niki Lauda’s mother?”
Well, there is a new Austrian on the team in Marco Rossi, and he’s also a fan of racing. Could the song choice have something to do with him?
Perhaps that answer is best kept in the dressing room.
The main message in the catchy dance song is about being carefree and living life to the fullest. Perhaps that’s something the Canucks can embody as they look to end this horrid season on a high note.
