Welcome to My Vancouver 2016, a curation of local industry experts, community and thought leaders, each telling us their resolutions for Vancouver in 2016. Since 2008, we’ve been bringing you a bucket list of things to do around the city while also keeping you informed with the many issues in our community. Now, we’re focusing on what’s next: the evolution of our city into something greater, starting with 2016.
What do you do?
I’ve made a business out of my environment. My team and I create, plan, and execute hundreds of concerts/festivals, operate nightclubs and other businesses, and work hard to conceptualize memorable experiences for as many different people as possible.
When did you come to Vancouver?
I came to Vancouver in 1990 with my family from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
What do you love most about Vancouver?
Its natural beauty, culture, and Westcoast lifestyle. I love that in one day you can go to the beach and then be in the mountains – all without leaving the city.
If you could make one New Year’s resolution for your industry in Vancouver for 2016, what would it be?
I would like to see rapid transit like the SkyTrain/Canada Line run later, and embrace ride share programs — especially having Uber come into the city. These things would make it easier and safer for residents and visitors that enjoy entertainment in Vancouver to get a reliable ride home.
