Welcome to My Vancouver 2016, a curation of local industry experts, community and thought leaders, each telling us their resolutions for Vancouver in 2016. Since 2008, we’ve been bringing you a bucket list of things to do around the city while also keeping you informed with the many issues in our community. Now, we’re focusing on what’s next: the evolution of our city into something greater, starting with 2016.

What do you do?

Long sentence: I create a greater sense of belonging and togetherness through the immersive cultural events of The Social Concierge.

Short caption: Partner in The Social Concierge.

When did you come to Vancouver?

Immigrated to Vancouver from Toronto in 1994 with my entire family.

What do you love most about Vancouver?

The rich cultural mix, the diversity of our cuisine and our emerging entrepreneurial mindset. We combine it all with an unmistakable west coast vibe.

If you could make one New Year’s resolution for your industry in Vancouver for 2016, what would it be?

In a city that has a reputation for being lonely and isolated, I propose a really important and straightforward resolution for the event and festival industry: grow. The many agencies, culture creators, and “eventeurs” already doing great work out there need to continue to scale efforts to bring about a greater sense of social well-being, inclusivity, and collective belonging. This is doing our part to make Vancouver a more vibrant and fun place to live.
