Music Monday: Tonye Aganaba

Dec 19 2017, 1:39 pm

Tonye Aganaba is a London, England born singer-song writer who was raised in Northern Canada. Now based out of Vancouver, she has been opening and putting on shows from genres spanning from Hip-Hop, R&B, Electro-House, Neo-Soul and even to Dubstep. In fact in 2011, her track “So Good” was noted to be #1 Dubstep track in the electronic world, with the help of Vancouver’s own Hirshee.

In early January, Tonye released her EP “White Wizard” and the compilation album “All Love” in dedication to late Vancouver musician, Randy Ponzio in February. The All Love album had songs from artists such from Valerie Ponzio to Reflectionz to Shad K. All of the proceeds would directly go to the Ponzio Trust. The “For the People” benefit concert, which featured Local Vancouver artists such as Kyprios, Hey Ocean, David Morin, herself and much much more, was a huge success in support the Ponzio Trust, which was dedicated to enriching the future of his children.

Catch Tonye open for Miles Dyson with Ollie Ple, Tre Funk & Kasey Riot at Venue on April 26th.
