Music Monday: JPNSGRLS release new song, “Bully For You”

Sweaty, danceable grit was the modus operandi on Circulation, the critically-acclaimed 2014 debut full-length of Vancouver garage-pop band JPNSGRLS. On their first new song in two years, “Bully For You,” the foursome protest against the misogyny that women are forced to deal with on a daily basis.

Comprised of razor-sharp riffs, loud splashes of percussion, and maintaining the band’s signature aggressive energy, “Bully For You” runs on observational lyrics that, given their subject matter, take on a slightly more serious tone than the darkly witty quips heard on Circulation.

Scrubbed with just enough sweat and danceable grit, it’s a tasty earful of what’s to come on JPNSGRLS’ anticipated sophomore album, which is set to be released this summer.
