Monday nights up Mount Seymour are about to get a heavy dose of some estrogen-fueled good will.
The 2016 Shred for the Cause “Locals Edition” will kick off on Monday, January 25 and run every Monday night until March 28, offering women ski and board passes for only $10. Men of course are welcome too, but will pay $31 for their lift tickets.
Shred for the Cause has been happening every year for eight seasons and has raised over $150,000 so far for numerous charities and organizations local and afar. This year’s recipient is The Bloom Group, a non-profit social services provider for women, men, and families of the Downtown Eastside, specifically providing low-barrier shelters for women and children.
A total of $5 from every lady’s lift ticket will go toward The Bloom Group and additional donations are always welcome.
Beyond just skiing and boarding, the mountain will be host to some pretty exciting events each Monday night, including a Ladies Only terrain park jam hosted by Rip Curl, complete with music from DJ Marie Kosmik, and an Après Ski at Three Peaks Lodge with weekly prizes from Rip Curl, Dragon Goggles, Instance, and Okanagan Spring Brewery.
