16 movies and TV shows filming in Vancouver this March

The start of a new month means some new movies and TV shows filming right here in Hollywood North. From feature films to another season of your favourite hit show to brand new series that are just getting started, there are lots of productions to catch filming here in Vancouver.

Here are 16 movies and TV shows filming in Vancouver this March that you don’t want to miss.

Midnight Mass – Season 1

The new horror series Midnight Mass will set up in Vancouver this March and is expected to be on location until July. From the creators of Haunting on Hill House, the seven episode series will star Zach Gilford, Kate Siegel, and Hamish Linklater.

Pieces of Her – Season 1

Pieces of Her will begin filming for its first season in Burnaby this month. Starring Toni Collette and Bella Heathcote as the lead characters, the new series is based upon the novel by the same name by author Karin Slaughter.

The Mighty Ducks – Season 1

Calling all Mighty Ducks fans. Get ready for some serious nostalgia because The Mighty Ducks reboot is happening. Production for the new series began in Vancouver last month and is expected to continue into June. Rumour has it that original screenwriter Steven Brill will also be involved in the new series.

The Stand – Season 1

The Stand is filming in Vancouver with production expected to wrap up by March 11. With notable cast members like Whoopi Goldberg, James Marsden, and Heather Graham, the series is going by its working title of Radio Nowhere and is an adaptation of the Stephen King novel.

The Flash – Season 6

The Flash will be filming in the city this month for season six of the hit show and will continue until April. The show is based on the DC comics and stars Grant Gustin as crime scene investigator Barry Allen, a man who has the superpower of speed and uses it to rescue innocents while fighting evil.

Brand New Cherry Flavor – Season 1

Brand New Cherry Flavor will wrap up filming in Vancouver at the beginning of this month. Set in 1990s Los Angeles, the horror mini-series stars Rosa Salazar as the main character along with Catherine Keener and Manny Jacinto, and will be an adaptation of the book by Todd Grimson.

Resident Alien – Season 1

Another series filming this month in Vancouver is Resident Alien. Production for the first season is underway until the end of March, and stars Alan Tudyk as an alien who lands on earth and takes on the identity of a doctor.

Another Life – Season 2

Another Life will begin filming in Vancouver this March. This new Netflix sci-fi series stars Katee Sackoff as the main character, Niko. In the first season, Niko leads a mission into space to study an alien artifact, when suddenly during the investigation things go very wrong.

Snowpiercer – Season 2

Back in Vancouver for its second season, Snowpiercer will be filming through to March 20. The drama series is based around the French graphic novel ‘Le Transperceneige’ and tells the story of the last survivors left on earth who board a train called “The Snowpiercer” that travels around the world.

While we don’t know for sure yet if Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs will reprise their previous roles from season one, the show will add Sean Bean, Steven Ogg, and Rowan Blanchard as new series regulars.

The 100 – Season 7

The 100 is in Vancouver to film its seventh season and will continue into April. The series centres around a group of post-apocalypse survivors that were living on a space station and send down a group of juvenile prisoners to figure out if life can still exist on planet Earth. Once there, nothing is what it seems.

Batwoman – Season 1

Batwoman will be on location in the city through to April. Starring Ruby Rose as lead character Kate Kane, the new series will really expand the DC Comics universe with its first-ever lesbian superhero.

Riverdale – Season 4

Riverdale will be on location in Metro Vancouver this month for another season of the binge-worthy Netflix show. Based around the Archie comics, Riverdale will be filming in town until April.

Nancy Drew – Season 1

Nancy Drew is a new series that will be filming in Vancouver with production continuing into April. Based upon the original Nancy Drew books, the CW series will follow 18-year-old Nancy Drew, who gets involved in a mystery when she, and a group of friends, witness a murder.

Supergirl – Season 5

Back for another season, Supergirl will be on location in Vancouver this March. Melissa Benoist stars as Kara, better known as Supergirl in this series, who must balance being a reporter and fighting crime — all while hiding her identity from the human world.

Charmed – Season 2

The CW’s Charmed will be in production in Vancouver to film for its second season. Starring Sarah Jeffery, Melonie Diaz, and Madeleine Mantock, the series is about three sisters who discover after their mother passes away that they are actually very powerful witches.

Supernatural – Season 15

Back again for its 15th season, Supernatural will be filming in Metro Vancouver this month starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. After 15 seasons, the show has become The CW’s longest-running series. Production is expected to continue until April of next year.
