It’s no secret that Vancouver is a hot location for film and tv shoots, which is why it has earned the nickname ‘Hollywood North’ (even though it doesn’t always play itself). What you might know is that many of the filming locations are actually at UBC.

UBC’s campus can be spotted in everything from the classic sci-fi series ‘X-Files’ to the 2006 Amanda Bynes comedy ‘She’s The Man’.  It was even featured most recently in the new Netflix series, Altered Carbon.

6. She’s The Man

Amanda Bynes controversial antics in recent years shouldn’t distract from her legacy as a ’90s children’s icon. Although her 2006 movie ‘She’s The Man’ could have been received better, we still have to give her credit for filming it at UBC.
