Remember a while back we introduced you to the East Vancouver basement suite near Knight Street that sold for $590,000. Yes you read that correctly, a basement suite, or “townhouse” as realtors like to refer to it, in East Van sold for close to $600,000. Now another one is for sale in Mount Pleasant. Labeled as a “townhouse” it’s still conjures up feelings of a basement suite and this may be the newest trend in Vancouver real estate.

The one in East Vancouver was 1175 square feet and was listed at $500 a square foot. This one in Mount Pleasant’s west side is selling closer to $800 a square foot. I think that’s being very optimistic in this market even if it is in a better neighbourhood.
Perhaps, up and down duplexes are the new trend for Vancouver real estate.
Looking at the photos, the finishings are of high quality and this is definitely not your standard run down East Vancouver basement suites that are being rented out.
