A motorcyclist has died after being involved in a collision with a vehicle in East Vancouver.

The incident occurred Thursday morning just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Nanaimo and Dundas streets. Paramedics arrived to the scene quickly, but the injuries the 32-year-old man incurred were far too traumatic. He died as a result of his injuries.

Vancouver Police say it appears that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Nanaimo Street when the collision happened. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.

Police are in the early stages of the investigation and are still at the site of the incident. Traffic delays can be expected along an eight block stretch of Nanaimo Street, from East Hastings to McGill streets.

This is Vancouver’s second major collision today, following another incident that occurred at 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Commercial Drive and East 1st Avenue. A 25-year-old pedestrian was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
