Canada one of the most satisfied countries in the world, study says

A recent study from the Fraser Institute says that when it comes to satisfaction with your life, Canadians rank near the top of the list.

The study, titled “Economic Freedom, Individual Perceptions of Life Control, and Life Satisfaction,” placed Canada in the Top 10 countries ranked for Life Satisfaction, at number 10.

The study asked large groups of participants from countries around the world to rank their satisfaction with their life, as well as how much control they believe they have over the course of their lives, on a scale from one to 10.

Overall, Canada scored a 7.8 on the list. At the top was Colombia, with 8.4.

  2. Mexico – 8.3
  3. Norway – 8.0
  4. Qatar – 8.0
  5. Switzerland – 8.0
  6. Ecuador – 7.9
  7. Brazil – 7.8
  8. Argentina – 7.8
  9. Finland – 7.8
  10. Canada – 7.8

10 least satisfied countries in the world

  1. Bulgaria – 5.2
  2. India – 5.1
  3. Ethiopia – 5.0
  4. Rwanda – 5.0
  5. Georgia – 5.0
  6. Pakistan – 4.9
  7. Egypt – 4.9
  8. Moldova – 4.6
  9. Tanzania – 3.9
  10. Zimbabwe – 3.9

In Life Control, Canada didn’t rank in the top 10, while Mexico came in first at an average of 8.4. Trinidad & Tobago were second at 8.2, tied with Colombia.
