Monday morning fashion fix - Tribal print!

Prints, and colors, and patterns. Oh my!

Good morning, welcome to the first official spring Monday of 2012. The weather out seems to say otherwise but ladies and gents, we are in spring mode no doubt. With the transition of a season comes the change of your wardrobe, if you’ve witnessed anything on the latest runway shows, you’d know that prints and more importantly tribal prints are all the rage. It’s easy to feel like you have to stay 10 meters away from tribal print, it’s bold, it’s bright and we’ve seen it done wrong so many times it’s a little disheartening.

Well how do we master the art of this style? By Tribal and error, of  course.

Forever 21 Tribal bib necklace $15.80 / Charlotte Russe Stretch cuff $6 / House of Harlow cuff  $220 $154.99

Going print crazy with your accessories is the safest route. It says, “hey I can be fun…on the down low.” It’s also the perfect addition to a plain outfit. Boring little black dress? Add a statement necklace like that Forever 21 number and you’re golden. I def wouldn’t be mad at that House of Harlow cuff showing up on my wrist either….

Forever 21 Painted tunic $18.90 / Urban Outfitters Knit Dress $69 / Piperlime print dress $79

there’s something about a tribal print in the summer that makes me think of African safari. Not to mention the cut of a tunic always makes legs look almost amazon-like. Definitely fit for Vancouver’s jungle.

Aldo Magen shoes $45 $22.49 / Aldo Corilla shoes $60 $29.99

And last but not least, if you’re not daring enough to wear a  bold print anywhere from the knees up, why not bless your feet with some fun? forget the one colored flats and the boring thongs, feet are meant to be celebrated! Doesn’t the Magen remind you of Missoni? Love it.

Whether it be a statement cuff, or a vibrant tunic, the tribal print is here to stay. So why not have some fun with it? If any of you are already on the tribal express, show us how you’ve incorporated it into your wardrobe, we’d love to see you work it!
