Before smart phones were a mainstay we solved our problems differently. If you had an issue at hand, you would have to solve it using your brain power, hard work and gruelling trial and error. Now, there’s apps for that. With over 300,000 apps to choose from in our digital world, we tackle problems differently. Enter, Moby a private location-sharing app that answers the old adage, “where are you?”.Made in Vancouver, Moby allows users to stay connected with the people that matter to them the most without encroaching on privacy. Moby’s differentiating point from other location-sharing apps, is that they focus heavily on users’ privacy. Users share their location only with the people that need to know where they are and how they are doing at that particular point in time, or for a specific duration.

It is perfect for families (especially if there are pre-teen or teen kids with smartphones), as well as friends and co-workers who would benefit from staying connected by sharing their location.

Moby for the iPhone comes equipped with four separate location-sharing features:

  •  Share Location: Share your real-time location within Moby with family or friends using Moby, or via text/e-mail with anyone else.
  • Check-in: Let your chosen contacts know where you are, along with a short message. Great for quick updates to the people that need to know if you’re OK.
  • Request Check-in: Ask one or more Moby friends to check-in with you when you need to know where they are. Ideal for coordinating meet ups, from the mall to the park and beyond.
  • Alert: With a simple tap, request help and have your chosen contacts know your exact location.
