A search is underway Thursday night in the waters off Kitsilano Dog Beach for a missing person.
People in the vicinity of English Bay reported seeing a flurry of emergency activity shortly after 8 p.m.

The Canadian Coast Guard is conducting the search, along with the Auxiliary Coast Guard, and the local police, confirms CBC Vancouver.
Initial reports indicate there was one person who swam ashore already.
UPDATE 9:20 P.M.: The Coast Guard has recovered the missing person, who reportedly was one of two people inside a small boat that overturned. Information about their identity or condition has not been made available.
