Millennium Water Olympic Village Grand Opening May 15

Dec 19 2017, 12:22 pm

On Saturday, May 15, the last remaining pieces of Vancouver Olympic real estate go on sale. Dubbed the “greenest neighbourhood on the planet,” Millennium Water is to be the future of all sustainable development (like a prototype car you can actually buy). It’s priced at a premium, but that comes with supply and demand; it is the last of remaining Vancouver waterfront. With that said, out of 1108 total residential units, 250 will be “affordable housing” and 100 “modest market housing.”

May 15 will be a celebration. Some features to expect:

  • Come and enjoy the celebration including live music, interactive activities and delectable treats from a host of local vendors.
  • Take a look at the stunning display of the 2010 Winter Games Olympic and Paralympic medals from Royal Canadian Mint and Teck Resources Limited.
  • More than 35 Olympians, including Ashleigh McIvor, 2010 Canadian Ski Cross gold medal winner, will be attending the grand opening. The public are invited to meet Olympic and Paralympic Medalists who will be available for an autograph signing session at the Salt Building during 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, 1:30 – 2:30 pm and 3:30 – 4:40 pm.
  • Tour the greenest neighbourhood on the planet! Visit Avenues of the World at Millennium Water featuring nine of Canada’s gold medal interior designers, each of whom has designed a suite with their own distinct theme. Pick up Avenues of the World passport at the Millennium Water Presentation Centre. This will provide direction for a self guided tour and a chance to enter a draw for amazing prizes including a Grand Prize Package valued at $20,000 or one of ten luxury Electra commuter bicycles valued at $700 each

The Grand Opening is May 15, from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Entrance is at West 1st Ave & Manitoba or at the Millenium Water Seawall. Check http://www.millenniumwater.com/ for more info.
