There's going to be an 8-foot doughnut and a lollipop tree at Metropolis at Metrotown (CONTEST)

One of Canada’s biggest shopping centres, Metropolis at Metrotown, is set to host a massive 10-day food-inspired extravaganza.

Kicking off on Friday, August 11, Metropolis Tasty Treats will be running at the mall until Sunday, August 20. You’ll get to go along to the event and marvel at the mouth-watering and whimsical exhibit featuring larger-than-life food art displays like an eight-foot doughnut and a lollipop tree that sprouts out from a cupcake.

Yep, the Instagram opportunities will be plentiful.

There’s even going to be 22,000 candy jawbreakers on sale in a seven-foot tall gum ball machine. You can buy one for 25 cents and all proceeds raised from sales will go to a great cause – the Burnaby Neighbourhood House.

During the foodie exhibit you’ll get to sample both sweet and salty snacks from Metropolis retailers.

And you’ll even be able to guess how many hundreds of jellybeans are in a display case for the chance to win a grand prize $1,000 shopping spree. Simply enter with your answer at one of the contest kiosks in the Grand Court.

Metropolis at Metrotown will also be giving away prizes on its Facebook and Instagram pages too.
