Will Metro Vancouver get a white Christmas this year? It’s possible, according to forecasts from Environment Canada.

On December 24 – that’s Christmas Eve – there’s a 60 per cent chance of snow flurries or rain showers for the Metro area. There will be a high of four degrees Celsius and a low of minus two.
Whether or not we have a white Christmas will depend on whether or not the potential flurries stick to the ground – the forecast for Christmas Day is a mix of sun and cloud, with a high of 4 degrees Celsius and a low of minus one.

Sadly, any snow on the ground will be washed away on Boxing Day, with expected periods of rain throughout the day. If you’re looking to wait in line to catch some deals, better bring your rain gear.
Not to worry, though – the local mountains could see a dumping of 11 centimetres of snow on Tuesday, December 22 alone, so skiing won’t be an issue.
Keep your fingers crossed for a white Christmas – And if all else fails, there’s always the classic 1954 movie of the same name starring Rosemary Clooney, Vera Ellen, Bing Crosby, and Danny Kaye to make up for it.
