Metro Vancouver temperatures are expected to remain high as July comes to a close this week, but a drastic change is forecasted in the weather.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) meteorologist Matt Loney told Daily Hive that the region will experience a warm Monday with temperatures slightly above normal.
The ECCC inland temperatures are also soaring to a daytime high that will feel over 30°C for parts of the week.

“There is a building upper ridge, with summer-like spells over the next three days,” explained Loney. There will also be a southerly flow bringing in humid conditions.
“At this time, we’re not expecting any heat warnings, but it is something that we’re monitoring.”
The latest forecast indicates that Metro Vancouver temperatures could reach a high of 27°C inland on Monday, July 28, and 29°C inland on Tuesday, July 29.
However, the temperatures with the Humidex can feel as high as 29°C on Monday and 32°C on Tuesday, with a UV index of 8, or very high, on both days.
Midweek temperatures will hover around the mid-20°C mark on Wednesday and Thursday before showers could return starting on Thursday night.

“On Thursday, as the high-pressure ridge slides to the east, there will be more marine influence, so temperatures will back off,” added Loney. “A good amount of moisture is moving in from the south from Thursday night into Friday. It could be widespread more than the official forecast, and there may even be thunder showers.”
However, the ECCC meteorologist said that Metro Vancouver looks to be dry for the most part over the B.C. Day long weekend
Daytime highs in Metro Vancouver are expected to only hit 21°C on Saturday and 21°C on Sunday, with overnight lows dropping to 15°C.
