While Metro Vancouver has been basking in the sunshine and heat over the past few days, the weather forecast for the B.C. Day long weekend is about to take a turn.
And if you’re a fan of clouds and rain, you’re in for a treat.
According to the latest information from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) posted on July 30, while the holiday weekend will see some sunshine on Saturday, clouds will settle in on Sunday, and rain is expected on Monday.
While Metro Vancouver temperatures this week have soared, with inland areas feeling like 36°C due to humidex, and heat warnings in effect for the B.C. Interior, a cool down is also on the way.
According to ECCC, Metro Vancouver coastal temperatures will hover around 20°C for the weekend.

And it looks like the rain and cooler weather will stick around until at least Tuesday.
In an interview with Daily Hive earlier this week, ECCC meteorologist Matt Loney explained why a weather pattern shift would be happening this week.
āOn Thursday, as the high-pressure ridge slides to the east, there will be more marine influence, so temperatures will back off,ā stated Loney.
āA good amount of moisture is moving in from the south from Thursday night into Friday. It could be widespread more than the official forecast, and there may even be thunder showers.ā
