When the weather warms up Metro Vancouver’s outdoor food market scene really comes alive. In addition to a variety of farmers’ markets, the city and surrounding areas boast a collection of night markets that showcase the city’s best food trucks, bakers, and artisans. These night markets bring together communities for entertainment, shopping, and wonderful food.

A swarm of market vendors set up their stalls along Vulcan Way in Richmond for the Panda Market, also known as the International Summer Night Market. With a smorgasbord of international cuisine and a range of exciting new foods visitors to the market are guaranteed an evening of great eating. Look for special events like dance competitions, go-kart racing, an auto show, an eating contest, a travelling exhibition, and more.

Days/Time: Fridays and Saturdays 7 p.m. to Midnight, Sundays and holidays 7 to 11 p.m.

North Vancouver’s Shipyards Night Market

Sunshine, a cool sea breeze, happy smiley faces, and an array of tantalizing food truck fare and farm fresh finds are what people can expect to find when they drop by North Van’s Shipyards Night Market. The festivities kick off at 5 p.m. every Friday night, from May 6 and run all summer long.

Richmond Night Market

Drawing crowds from all over Metro Vancouver, the Richmond Night Market is located within easy access of the Canada Line’s Bridgeport Station. Roam the aisles to find games, food, and all sorts of wares for sale.

Day/Time: Fridays and Saturdays 7 p.m. to Midnight, Sundays and holiday Mondays 7 to 11 p.m.
Dates: May 13 to October 10, 2016
Location: 8351 River Road (nearby Bridgeport Station)
Admission: $2.75 (regular admission). Kids 10 and under, seniors 60 and up are free.

In its third season, the Surrey Night Market will host a variety of food vendors selling all kinds of delicious eats, as well as performers, and rides. The mission of the market is to provide Surrey residents a place to gather, shop, eat, and hang out on weekend nights in the warm weather months.

Day/Time: Fridays and Saturdays 6 to 11 p.m., Sundays 5 to 10 p.m.
Dates: June 3 to August 14, 2016
Location: Cloverdale Exhibition Grounds, 17726-62 Avenue
Admission: $2 (regular admission). Free admission for: families of all Canadian Forces personnel and Veterans living in BC; children less than 48″ in height when accompanied by their families; wheelchair borne persons; and seniors over 75 years.
