Here is a dubious title we shouldn’t be bragging about. Metro Vancouver has been named the mail theft capital of Canada, with over 250 break-ins in just the suburb of Langley.
With Canada Post moving to more community boxes and reducing traditional door-to-door delivery service, an increase in mail theft could follow. This decision, made late 2013, will result in $500 million in savings for Canada Post over the next five years.
RCMP recomment that you pick up your mail daily and place a “stop” on it if you’re about to go on vacation.
