If your vehicle is running on empty, you may want to hold off for one more day because Metro Vancouver gas prices are expected to drop this weekend.
According to Dan McTeague, Senior Analyst at GasBuddy, prices dropped by 1 cent on Friday, followed by a 6 cent/litre drop on Saturday.
⚠️⛽️ Alert: #Vancouver and the Lower Mainland to 👀 a 1 cent a litre DROP @ the ⛽️ Friday followed by a 6 cent a litre DROP on Saturday that will put maximum prices at 159.9 cents per litre.

He later tweeted that prices will drop an additional 3 cents on Sunday, with the highest prices at 156.9 per/ litre and the lowest prices at 143.9 per/ litre at gas stations in Metro Vancouver.
⚠️⛽️ Alert: after tomorrow’s 6 cent a litre drop to 159.9 cents a litre #Vancouver and the Lower Mainland will see ⛽️ prices FALL 3 cents on Sunday with highest prices at 156.9 and some offering for as little as 143.9 in MetroVan. THIS IS DUE TO FEARS OF A U.S-CHINA TRADE WAR

McTeague says the 10 cent price drop is due to “fears of a US-China trade war.”
This comes as a welcome relief at the pump. For the past several weeks, Metro Vancouver has seen record high gas prices, reaching up to 172.9 cents/litre.
In April, British Columbia saw another increase in the province’s carbon tax rate – an annual increase that will continue until 2021.
Gas stations also transitioned to a “summer blend” of gasoline — a pricier, more expensive blend than its winter counterpart, which also added to the costly price at the pump.
