Metro Vancouver forecast calls for risk of thunderstorms today

Metro Vancouver residents could have double the reason to stay indoors today.

Yes, in addition to the region’s ongoing air quality advisory, Environment Canada is also calling for a risk of thunderstorms throughout Friday.

The forecast calls for a 60% chance of showers throughout the day, with the possibility of storms occurring throughout the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures on Friday are forecast to hit a high of 19°C during the day and a low of 14°C overnight.

Fortunately, the thunderstorms aren’t expected to carry over through the weekend. Vancouver’s forecast is expected to return to showers on Saturday and clear into a mix of sun and cloud for Sunday.
