After a lengthy streak of dry weather, Environment Canada is calling for rain in Metro Vancouver’s forecast.

Wednesday’s conditions call for mainly cloudy skies, and while Thursday will likely be the same, showers are expected to roll in overnight. The weather agency forecasts a 60% chance of showers from Thursday night to Saturday during the day.

Widespread smoke will also remain across the region, although Environment Canada said in a statement that “further improvements” in air quality are expected by the weekend.

Cloudy skies are expected to return by Sunday, although showers could return for a brief period overnight.

Environment Canada is also calling for relatively higher temperatures as the week continues. Wednesday is expected to have a high of 26°C inland, although it’ll feel more like 31°C due to humidity.

Thursday is also calling for a high of 27°C due to humidity, and daytime highs between 18°C and 20°C are expected throughout the rest of the week.
