Sunny and clear sky conditions today will be paired with high winds.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for strong outflow winds of 70 to 90 km/hr that have developed through the mainland valleys and inlets over the north and central coasts.
As well, northeast winds of 50 to 70 km/hr with gusts to 80 km/hr are expected to develop over Howe Sound, the Fraser Valley, and parts of Metro Vancouver. These conditions will extend to the Southern Gulf Islands and parts of Greater Victoria this morning.
It is expected the strong outflow winds will ease by Monday morning as the high pressure over the BC Interior weakens.
The high pressure system will dissipate by the end of Tuesday, allowing a low pressure system to move in with rainfall beginning on Wednesday.
