Early summer-like weather is expected to remain in Metro Vancouver for at least another full week.
According to Environment Canada, the temperature today is expected to reach a high of 21°C by the water at Vancouver International Airport and 29°C further inland, away from the moderating effects of the water. Sunscreen should be applied before exposure to sun as today’s UV index has been set to a high of 6.
Sunny and above seasonal conditions are expected to last through the weekend into next Thursday. The temperatures will remain relatively constant, although there will be a slight drop on Monday and Tuesday to 17°C to 18°C by the water.
A powerful high pressure system over much of British Columbia is responsible for the extended early warm and dry conditions.
