Rainfall warning: Up to 60 mm for Metro Vancouver through NYE

Dec 31 2019, 12:21 am

The remainder of 2019 in Metro Vancouver will be an extremely wet period.

Environment Canada issued a heavy rainfall warning for the region just before 4 pm Monday. According to the bulletin, a frontal system moving southwards down the coast of British Columbia will lead to downpours Monday evening and throughout Tuesday.

The federal meteorological agency anticipates between 40 mm and 60 mm will fall in the region by New Year’s Eve.

With temperatures hovering at a constant of between 7°C and 8°C throughout the day and overnight hours, this will be one of the warmest NYE periods in the region in years.
