Messi Mania is building in Vancouver.
Inter Miami CF and Lionel Messi have officially landed ahead of their game against the Vancouver Whitecaps tomorrow. It’s looking increasingly likely that Messi will play, leading soccer fans in the city to grow more excited.
The news that Messi made the trip to Vancouver has caused a massive spike in ticket prices for tomorrow’s match. The building has been completely sold out since just after tickets were released, but the prices on the secondary market have gone through the roof.

Yesterday, when Messi’s status was still uncertain around 3:30 pm, tickets to the game at BC Place were selling for $68.25 each. There were a variety of seats in the upper bowl that you could get for that price.
While you would be sitting near the back row in the upper bowl, you and a friend could go to the game for $150 after taxes and fees.

Today, that $150 won’t even get you inside the building. The confirmation that the Argentinian star made the trip west sent people into a frenzy, and the price of tickets started to skyrocket.
Around 24 hours after tickets were selling for just under $70, the cheapest seat is now $198.73. That’ll get you into the upper bowl, in the corner of the stadium. Not exactly the best seats.

If you want to sit in the lower bowl, it will cost you even more. The cheapest seats in the lower bowl start at $251.09 each after taxes and fees.
It is expected that more than 54,000 fans will attend the big game, a number that would likely mark the Whitecaps’ highest attendance of the season so far.
“I’m clearly expecting that the stadium is sold out,” said Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster. “That’s what all the trends in our platforms show, that the game will be sold out. All tickets that we could make available have been sold out within minutes.”
After this first game, the Whitecaps and Miami will play a second leg back in Florida next Wednesday to decide the winner of this semi-final.
