What does it take to achieve mental wellness in an increasingly complex and stressful world?
Ideas and answers around this question will be discussed and explored at Here-2-There 3.0: Your Climb to Mental Wellness – the third installment in the leadership series, taking place on Thursday, February 2.
The event “tackles the topic of mental health by exposing the stigmas and often hidden challenges on the journey to mental wellness,” an event press release says. “Be inspired by community leaders as they share their tools and coping mechanisms, and stories of determination, self-discovery, and strength to deal with internal adversities.”
Here-2-There 3.0: Your Climb to Mental Wellness, features a series of speakers, including Adam Hart, a best -selling author, Dr. Marita Schauch, an expert in holistic health and wellness, Brent Seal, a motivational speaker, and Margo Talbot, a sponsored athlete.
The event will be hosted by Sam Thiara an author, coach and lecturer; and Mike Schauch, a mountaineer, social entrepreneur, and investment professional.
“In the same vein as previous Here-2-There events, we wanted to create a space that promotes sharing, acceptance, and understanding,” said Thiara. “The more we are informed and talk openly about mental health, the better we are able to support each other.”
Schauch echoed Thiara’s sentiments.
“Just as we have our physical wellness, we also have and must focus on our mental wellness,” he said. ‘This is increasingly important in an increasingly complex and demanding world.”
In addition to the four speakers, the event will include a live music performance by Vancouver violist virtuoso and composer Thomas Beckman, improvised to the awe-inspiring visual art of award winning photographer Eric Saczuk.
All profits from the event will benefit a local network of youth-led mental health enterprises.
