Town Hall Meeting about new North Vancouver rental

Dec 20 2017, 5:21 am

Hollyburn Properties is hosting a Town Hall meeting on April 21 regarding their mixed-use purpose-built rental proposal.

The new rental will be located at 1301-1333 Lonsdale Avenue, situated in the City of North Vancouver.  Attendees will have the opportunity to review design concepts and share any feedback with the project team.

Designed by Francl Architecture, the 19 storey mixed-use building is 100% rental residential. It will provide 144 new rental units in the Central Lonsdale area where the vacancy rate is 0.2%, or one vacant unit for every 500 rental units –  well below the regional average.

The proposal includes 16 two bedroom suites and 16 three bedroom suites. The new three bedroom suites represent an increase of almost 50% in the city’s family-oriented rental housing.

The proposal also includes an improved streetscape and public realm with patio space for new businesses, weather protection for pedestrians, and the addition of new trees and pavement treatments. A new public mews will link the proposed building’s open space to City Hall and the lane will be beautified to create a shared pedestrian area for the community to enjoy.
