MEC’s Member Month is bringing expert demos and gear swaps to Canada
Get your hiking boots ready, Canada — Mountain Equipment Company (aka MEC) is officially launching its annual Member Month this May, and it’s shaping up to be a full-on celebration of community, adventure, and the great outdoors.
Running from May 1 to 31, Member Month is celebrating the season ahead with a full month of community events, free clinics, exclusive member savings — giving you an excuse to get outside and make the most of the upcoming summer.
Whether you’re planning your first camping trip or finally tackling those bucket-list hikes, MEC is bringing the energy and expertise to help you gear up.
One of the key activations is the return of Demo Days, which will take place at select MEC locations from coast-to-coast. Find out if your local store is involved by keeping an eye on the website.
These in-store events will give attendees the opportunity to test products from leading outdoor brands and speak directly with staff and brand representatives before purchasing.
Visitors will also have the chance to enter on-site contests, with prizes valued at up to $1,200, and limited-edition giveaways available while supplies last.
Next, MEC’s Gear Swap will also return to Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary as part of the month-long programming. The initiative allows customers to buy and sell secondhand outdoor equipment, supporting more sustainable consumption while making gear more accessible at lower price points.
Throughout May, MEC Members get a full month of perks worth sticking around for — from early-month deals on select brands to end-of-month savings on bike shop services.
