What Women Want

Meccanica a Cressey development in the Southeast False Creek area, named after a custom replica-Porsche builder, may sound like it’s male-driven but Hani Lammam, Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at Cressey Development Group claims this isn’t the case.

“With Meccanica, special attention has been paid to the female audience by placing major emphasis on qualities that appeal to women, such as sleek design, ample closet space, and spa-inspired bathrooms,” says Lammam.

Recent reports suggest women are gaining more momentum in the home buying market as the primary decision maker in the family.

So when Cressey began to plan the development, it seemed only natural to apply what they already know about female consumers.

“With Meccanica, we’ve incorporated feedback from our previous female homebuyers about design, floor plan and exteriors,” said Lammam. “We’ve placed major emphasis on qualities women value.”

Since opening this spring, the results have yielded an overwhelming response from women who note Meccanica’s functional layouts and stylish design features, such as over-height interior doors, high gloss cabinets, extra storage, and high ceilings, as particularly appealing.

Meccanica’s modern-designed kitchen has been especially popular amongst women, according to Lammam.

“First and foremost women are attracted to the thoughtful design and walk-through layout of our famous Cressey kitchen. We’ve filled it full of smart storage space and integrated our appliances to keep the design clean and sleek,“ says Lammam. “It has a high-end appeal with stone countertops and backsplashes, under cabinet lighting, soft-close details, award-winning appliances, and gorgeous fixtures.”

In addition, the homes at Meccanica are completely customizable. Buyers can choose from 6 cabinet colours as well as a host of options including a custom built-in entertainment unit, kitchen upgrades including an extra-large table and kitchen island for extra prep and entertaining space, and additional shelving and organizational units for added functionality.

“Today’s buyers revel in the idea of being able to create a custom home to meet their individual needs and tastes – by the time the development is complete, almost no two will look alike.”

The Meccanica Showroom is open everyday from 12-5pm except Fridays at 104 E 1st Avenue, Vancouver at Quebec. Call 604.876.8819 or visit www.meccanicabycressey.com for more information. Homes from $389,900.
