MEC Vancouver is hosting the third of seven inexpensive races throughout beautiful Metro Vancouver on Sunday, April 12.

You can choose your distance of 5K or 10K and the route starts at Devonian Harbour Park, includes a loop on the Seawall through Stanley Park and finishes back at Devonian.

Entry to the race is $15 and includes two aid stations (offering water and an electrolyte beverage), mobile first aid and MEC staff along route for some cheerleading support. Complimentary drinks and snacks for all participants will be provided at the finish.

“The goal with MEC Race Series is to offer our beginner and advanced runners alike a great race at an affordable rate,” said Mallory Holmes, Outreach Coordinator. “We hope to motivate the community that road running races can be accessible for everyone.”

In 2013, the MEC Vancouver Race Series saw over 1,065 runners participate over the course of seven races. In 2014, the MEC Vancouver Race Series had over 3,160 racers participate annually and added two half marathon distances and an annual marathon. With the Sun Run and BMO fast approaching, this could be the perfect warm up run to stretch those legs in preparation!
