Vancouver’s favourite sandwich shop, Meat & Bread, is gearing up for a spring open south of the border in Seattle.

News of Meat & Bread’s southward expansion has had Seattlites salivating since last summer.

Construction at the 50-seat Capitol Hill location is “well underway” according to Eater Seattle. Meat & Bread owner Frankie Harrington confirmed the Seattle menu will be much like the Vancouver one (hello, porchetta!) and the restaurant will do lunch and dinner.

Local devotees of the shop, with locations on Cambie and Pender in downtown Vancouver and on Yates in Victoria, often brave the line to get their hands on Meat & Bread’s delicious sandwiches.

Meat & Bread’s first U.S. location is slated to open in April.
