Meanwhile in Calgary: weather warning declared for spring snowstorm

Calgary is on high alert for a spring snowstorm that could dump as much as 10 centimetres.

Environment Canada declared the warning this morning, forecasting a developing low pressure system that will produce precipitation in areas with temperatures that hover at the freezing mark.

Wet snow will initially melt at the surface however with time and increased intensity some snow will begin to accumulate. Total snowfall amounts near the foothills may approach 10 cm in a few localities. Snow will end this evening as the low exits into Saskatchewan.
