McDavid and Crosby's game-worn Canada jerseys from 4 Nations going for absurd auction price

Though nobody knew what to expect going into the 4 Nations Face-Off, it’s probably pretty hard to find many people in Canada who had a bad time watching the series.

The country got to see a tournament-winning goal off the stick of Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, a 37-year-old Sidney Crosby remind us all he’s still one of the best players in the world, and yes, Canada got to stick it to the Americans on a big stage one more time.

Even though it was just seven games in a tournament dreamt up by the NHL head office 12 months ago, the event will be remembered for a long, long time.

And if you’re looking to dive deep into your savings account, you just might be able to own one of the most unique pieces of hockey memorabilia out there.

The NHL is currently running an auction from the event, which includes game-worn jerseys and pucks from all four teams in the tournament.

And yes, McDavid and Crosby are fetching the highest bids so far. While their jerseys from the championship game aren’t up for auction, bidders have a chance to own their uniforms from the first contest against the Americans, which resulted in a 3-1 loss for Canada.

McDavid’s jersey is currently listed at US$35,015, or C$49,778.93 when converted.

Crosby is slightly cheaper, listed at an even US$30,000, which converts to C$42,639. Sidney Crosby Team Canada Game-Used #87 Red Jersey Worn During The Game Played vs. Team USA February 15, 2025 - Worn During Entire Game

Both auctions end tomorrow night: McDavid’s at 9 p.m. EST/6:30 p.m. PST, while Crosby will end half an hour later at 9:30 p.m. EST/6:30 p.m. PST on Feb. 25.

Other players also have quite high pricing: Auston Matthews and Nathan MacKinnon are going for over US$15,000 each. Brady and Matthew Tkachuk have topped $8,300, and Mitch Marner is currently listed at US$7,500.

But if that’s too pricey for you, perhaps you’d be interested in the puck from McDavid’s opening goal in the round-robin game against the Americans, listed for US$5,105 at press time.

The cheapest game-worn Canada jersey is Travis Sanheim’s, which is going for US$1,640. Still not exactly the cheapest item in the world, but maybe you can see if your landlord will let you hold off rent for this month while you buy it.

We can’t say that bidding on one of these items is necessarily the smartest financial advice, but man, you’d have a pretty good chance of your children winning the coolest show-and-tell item prize if they ever brought one of those jerseys into the classroom.
