Tri-Cities is packed with fun events in March, from craft beer to a home show and everything in between. To get you started, here are 10 things to do around Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody this month.

  • What: The Coquitlam Craft Beer Festival is Coquitlam’s original craft beer and food festival. The event showcases craft brews from over 30 breweries and features bites from ten local restaurants and caterers. This festival is a semi-annual two-day event that supports Team Taylor with the Ride to Conquer Cancer and the BC Cancer Foundation.

17th Port Moody Canadian Film Festival

  • What: Celebrate outstanding Canadian film at the 17th Annual Port Moody Canadian Film Festival. Meet the acclaimed young director Ashley McKenzie at the opening Cinema Salon. From the mockumentary Operation Avalanche about how NASA faked the moon landing, to the documentary Koneline: Our Land Beautiful celebrating Northwestern BC, to the romantic drama The Other Half, there’s something for everyone.

Special Olympics BC Coquitlam Manure Sale

  • What: Calling all gardeners. Special Olympics BC – Coquitlam is raising funds by selling composted, high quality horse manure that is perfect for all types of gardens and lawns. The manure is dried and non-stinky, and costs $5.00 per bag (36L) or 5 bags for $20.00. Cash only. All proceeds go to benefit Special Olympics BC – Coquitlam programs.

BC Uncorked Food & Wine Festival

  • What: The event showcases wines from over 45 top-rated BC wineries, matched with intriguing foods provided by 10 of the best local restaurants and caterers.

  • When: March 11, Master Class starts at 4;30 pm, General Admission from 7 to 9:30 pm

An Afternoon of Irish Culture & Music

  • What: A celebration of Irish culture, heritage, and the Irish Canadians who helped shape our nation. Brendan Flynn of the Ireland Canada Monument Society will give a short presentation, followed by Mr. Doug Massey, whose father George Massey was influential in building the Massey Tunnel. Mr. Bob Mackin, grandson of Henry. J Mackin will also speak. The presentations will be followed by Irish musical performances.

Ghana@60 Gala

  • What: Celebrating Ghana’s 60th Independence Anniversary. Featuring a fashion show, cultural dance, door prizes, exhibition and more.

Polish Canadian Art Fusion Exhibition

  • What: The Polonez Tri-City Polish Association presents the 4th Annual Polish Canadian Art Fusion Exhibition. The exhibit will showcase artwork created by Polish artists from BC. Each style of painting is unique, and together the artwork is a representation of diversity, individuality and culture.

Port Moody Craft Brewery Tour

  • What: Port Moody Craft Brewery Tour invites craft beer loving Vancouverites on a facilitated tour of four local craft breweries in Port Moody, BC – Twin Sails, Yellow Dog, Parkside, and Moody Ales – otherwise known as “Brewer’s Row.”
