If your workdays consist of daydreaming about being somewhere else, you’re probably in the wrong career. It happens, your goals change. And that’s totally normal.
The good news is that it’s never too late to transition into a career in digital media. When you have the right qualifications, the process is much easier than you think.
It doesn’t matter what your background is, if you’re tech-savvy with a desire to create, the Master of Digital Media program at Vancouver’s Centre for Digital Media could help you land a job in production, management, design, developing, and so many other top-level roles.
The Master of Digital Media program is jointly run by four Vancouver universities: UBC, SFU, ECUAD, and BCIT. It’s only 12 months long, then you’ll have the option of completing a four-month internship or going on to get a full-time job in digital media (which will be counted as an internship).
There’s an information session taking place on Thursday, November 15 at the Centre for Digital Media campus on Great Northern Way where you can learn all about the program and how it could change your career. Make sure to register here ahead of time.
If you’re currently completing your undergraduate degree or have done so, you could apply to join this program and earn your Master’s Degree in just over a year.
During the course of your study, you’ll work directly with digital companies on industry projects. This gives you the opportunity to learn from and network with professionals in the field. The Master of Digital Media program is a launchpad for your career, and when you graduate, you’ll be industry-ready to move up the digital media ranks.
Graduates from the program have gone on to work as managing directors, senior program managers, and senior producers, with 95% of graduates working in their field.
There are also many scholarship opportunities available via the Centre for Digital Media — 40% of incoming students for September 2018 received a scholarship or other form of financial assistance.
