
One of Canada’s largest collections of sport and comic memorabilia will be headed to the auction block at Able Auctions on December 1-2. The auction will offer a huge variety of rare collector items. Most items in the $2.5 million collection are factory sealed and in mint condition.
“The star of the auction is the Star Trek ‘Leaf European’ collector set, it is a real find and very rare” says Jeremy Dodd, President, Able Auctions. “With Christmas around the corner this is a great time for bargain-savvy shoppers to find their perfect gifts, whether it’s for a sports fan or a comic collector.
Some of the rarer and unique items include:
– Leroy Neiman serigraph of Wayne Gretzky, signed by both the artist and Gretzky
– Michael Jordan 22K gold wrapped cards
– A signed chromium Hugh Hefner Playboy Pass Card
– Special edition and autographed Gretzky, Dryden and Bure hockey cards
– Over 50,000 hockey cards – purchased new – unopened, in sleeves or plastic holders
– Over 30,000 comics including – Superman, Spiderman, Star Trek, Star Wars, Lady Death & Battlestar Galactica. About 99% are in special plastic bags with acid free backing boards.
A public preview of all merchandise will be held Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 1055 Vernon Drive, Vancouver. A selection of the collectables can be viewed online in advance of the auction at www.ableauctions.ca, on the “Upcoming Auctions” page.
