A massive fire that began this morning in South Burnaby has been extinguished.
The fire occurred at an abandoned foundry warehouse building located near Marine Way, just south of Southridge Drive. Although the area is mainly used for agricultural purposes, it also has commercial, industrial and residential properties.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
There was also a simultaneous fire at Stanley Park this morning. Fortunately, wet surroundings allowed firefighters to contain the blaze to one large, tall tree.
